Local-first bookkeeping and tax-planning software being developed for sole proprietors in Japan. A clearer view of your income, expenses, and the money behind your business.
Running a small business means tracking income, reviewing expenses, and separating business activity from personal spending. Tax Planner is being built around those everyday records and the needs of people operating a business in Japan.
The goal is to help an owner understand their financial position throughout the year. Development includes the accounting foundations needed for Japanese business records and Blue Return workflows, while keeping everyday decisions approachable.
Less repetition, more visibility
Credit-card statements can mix business expenses, personal purchases, and transactions that need splitting. Tax Planner is being designed to help review those records and reuse previous classifications, with the owner remaining in control of the decisions.
Another development goal is to make future tax obligations easier to plan for, with estimates alongside everyday business records. Those estimates are intended to support planning; individual circumstances still matter and some questions require professional advice.
Local-first by design
Business records deserve deliberate handling. Tax Planner is being developed around keeping the owner’s financial information under their control, with encrypted data storage and a local-first approach. Our privacy principles explain the thinking behind that direction.
Still under development
The accounting engine, data migration, owner workflows, and tax-rule support are still being developed and tested. Tax Planner is not available for sale or ready to rely on for preparing a tax return. DarkSea Support is planned to launch first.
